From Hunger to Hope — Feeding Lives with Just ₹1
In life, we often remember our struggles — how hard we’ve tried and what we’ve faced. But what we sometimes forget is who stood by us in those tough times. Manish, a compassionate young man, is not one to forget. His journey from hunger to hope has now become a mission to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, while struggling to survive in Mumbai, Manish often went to bed hungry. There were days when he had no money, no resources, and no idea where his next meal would come from. But amidst those dark days, he found light — a humble langar at a local Gurudwara. Walking several kilometers just to get one plate of food, Manish realized how a single meal could bring comfort, strength, and dignity to a person in need.
That experience changed his life forever. It planted in him a seed of compassion — a mission to make sure others never suffer the way he once did.
The Birth of the ₹1 Thali Mission
Motivated by his struggles, Manish started the ₹1 Thali Mission under the Nageswar Bimla Foundation. His goal was simple yet powerful — to serve wholesome meals to anyone in need for just ₹1. What began as a small effort has today grown into two full-fledged community kitchens in Saharsa, Bihar, serving hundreds of meals daily to the poor, the elderly, and the homeless.
But Manish’s heart always remained in Mumbai — the city where his struggle began. He recently launched a new initiative here, near a cancer hospital, where countless attendants of patients wait anxiously for their loved ones, often skipping meals themselves.

“We see them every day — people who spend everything they have for their loved ones’ treatment. They forget to eat, or sometimes, they simply can’t afford to,” says Manish.
A New Mission in Mumbai
The Nageswar Bimla Foundation has started feeding these caregivers and the needy around the hospital. However, due to limited resources, they currently buy food from local hotels, managing to feed about 180–200 people daily. Sadly, many still go hungry.
To expand their reach and serve more people, the foundation urgently needs:
- A dedicated kitchen setup to cook food daily instead of buying it.
- Daily ration supplies (rice, pulses, vegetables, oil, spices).
- A transport vehicle to deliver meals to multiple areas across the city.
With your support, this dream can become a sustainable reality — where no person near the hospital, no attendant, and no hungry soul is left without food.

“I know what hunger feels like… I just want to make sure no one else feels it,” says Manish, Founder of the Nageswar Bimla Foundation.
Even a small contribution — a bag of rice, a few litres of oil, or a kind donation — can fill hundreds of empty stomachs and bring comfort to those fighting silent battles every day.
About Nageswar Bimla Foundation
Founded by Manish, the Nageswar Bimla Foundation is a non-profit organization working to eradicate hunger and provide nutritious meals to those in need. Starting with the ₹1 Thali Mission in Bihar, the foundation has served thousands of meals and now continues its mission of compassion in Mumbai — feeding patients’ families, the homeless, and the underprivileged with love and dignity.
